The Farthest Reach Award // 2012 Short List Announced

It's been a long road, but we finally have whittled down the close to 50 nominees to our short list of five. In the coming weeks, watch this website for an announcement of the final winner from this list. It could be anyone shown below.

So without further ado...



On behalf of the Decision Committee, I mark this moment by announcing the five short listed nominees for the 2012 Farthest Reach Award. In no particular order, they are:



George Pappas 


Jeremy C. Shipp


Kristen Lamb


The Indie Book Collective


Eden Baylee




If you know the individuals and groups short listed above, let them know, slap them on the back and give them a virtual handshake. They are worthy of bragging about. Buy a copy of their books, if they are authors; visit their websites and learn why they have been selected as the tops in terms of promoting book sales, awareness and all things related to literature.

Thank you for all the effort and attention of our Decision Committee. This couldn't have been done without your diligence.

    Awesome! As cofounder of the IBC, we are BEYOND excited and I will pass this info along to my cofounders Carolyn McCray & Amber Scott as well as our volunteer staff & entire collective! Look at me, using all these exclamation marks...

    Wow!!! Such amazing company to be nominated in, too! I must say that Eden wooed us in IBC's Blog Tour de Force Menage a Blog and is a true friend to authors. Jeremy, I stalk you on Facebook! George came out swinging in Cage Match last April with us and Kristen is a constant social media presence. The coolest part is how our paths have all crossed and intertwined.

    Thanks for stopping in and offering your congrats, everyone!

    It has been an incredible experience for me to be the facilitator of this effort and I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to work with this great group (The committee) in helping to recognize the efforts of this group (the short listers).

    So appreciative of everyone's help and support to get this off the ground!
